Honest Burgers

Unified view of employees

Who are they?

Honest Burger is a British success story. They’ve been named as Britain’s fastest hospitality business and listed in The Sunday Times Fast Track 100. With almost 50 restaurants across the UK and 500+ employees, the company is going from strength-to-strength.

Why did they need our help?

Honest we're unhappy with their People department’s technology infrastructure for some time. They were spending large amounts on clunky, off-the-shelf software which couldn’t give them an accurate view of their business. Alongside HR consultancy, The Pioneers, we set out to help Honest consolidate their data and integrate their front end systems into a single source of truth. Our overall aim was to enable better decision making for their management and empower teams to take control of their own ways of working.

How did we help them?

We started by provisioning a lightweight digital infrastructure. Once this was in place, we began migrating all operational HR data held in spreadsheets over to a structured cloud hosted database. We then connected up front end systems such as chatbots and point of sale data into a single, integrated view of the world that became known as 'the brain'. This enabled us to build a simple user interface for Restaurant General Managers to model the effect of shift patterns and assess their P&L in real time.

What were the results?

Our work enabled Honest to turn off their outdated HRIS platform saving £90k a year. They also avoided the need to invest in a new business insights tool that would have cost £50k a year. Operations and automations are more reliable and more responsive. Honest now have a technology infrastructure that can scale with their business and support the employee experience and culture they’re looking to nurture.

A secret weapon for company directors. If you're tired of a 'computer says no' IT person, Ben is breath of fresh air. The ability to understand your problems and find relevant solutions is their true x-factor.
